CANON Andrew White is a key diplomat, hostage negotiator and peacemaker in war-torn Iraq.
He also serves as the president of the Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East.
When he is not dodging bullets, lending his services as chaplain to the military, or networking with Muslim clerics, he is also a family man and Anglican priest at St Georges Church, Baghdad.
He was interviewed this week by CNN during a book tour, in between engagements with his supporters in the USA.
A great quotation from him here regarding religion and its ability to shape geo-politics. "Religion is about power," he says, "And power can either create something beautiful, or cause total destruction."
